When a lady wears gloves...

Gloves should be worn on the streets of cities and larger towns, when attending church, a luncheon, dinner, or reception; to a dance, a wedding celebration, or formal function. They should also be worn to the theatre or in a restaurant.

Smart women usually wear gloves when travelling on a train or airplane, or in any oter public conveyance.

On formal occasions, gloves are worn by the guests and the hostess while she is receiving.

When a lady removes her gloves...

Gloves must always be removed before eating, drinking, smoking, playing cards, or putting on makeup.

When lunching in a restaurant, a lady removes her coat but keeps her gloves and hat on. Her gloves are removed when seated at the table.

Gloves Sizing Chart

Find out your leather glove size

Measure around your hand with a tape just below your knuckles indicated on the diagram below.
You should use your dominant hand, the right if you are right-handed, and the left if you are left-handed.
If you have a size in between, choose the smaller size if you like tight gloves.
Unlined gloves have the ability to adjust to the shape of your own hand and arm.
For lined gloves round up to the nearest size.
