ABOUT GLOVES

Why are Ines gloves so special?

Because the fingers are so elegant, the fit is haute couture and the glove leather is first rate. Ines gloves are made of vegetable tanned leather.

Glacé

Glacé gloves is the essence of well-designed, elegant hand-wear. It is a very simple sort of glove.

However, it is this simplicity that spawns great complexity.

The Glacé, in essence, is unlined, which, quite simply, means that the glove is made of only one layer of leather.

This allows the Glacé glove to have unique attributes, namely that is that it takes on the form of one’s, hand, practically feeling and functioning as a second skin.

Quality

However, for a glove of this simplicity to actually have these qualities, two things must be incorporated.

Primarily the leather must be of absolute superior quality.

If it does not, the glove will not completely take on the shape of your hand and, even worse, the gloves will not be colorfast.

This means that the gloves will stain your hands.

Secondly, the design and manufacturing must be precise.

This complements the top-notch quality of the leather and the glove, as a whole.

Dress

For all outfits, a smooth-surfaced leather glove is the perfect match.

Clothing with a matte finish is offset nicely by a pair of patent leather gloves.

For city-style apparel, sueded leather and thin kidskin gloves work well.

Evening wear is enhanced by long kidskin gloves.

Fingerless gloves are fantastic with summer fashions and fashion in general.

Colors

Match or contrast the outfit you are wearing by using darker or lighter shades of the same color or choose a complete different color.

Traditional glove colors that look great with everything include black, white and beige with all the shades of cream, sand and brown.

In the summer, pastel gloves are a perfect accent to a light-colored or even darker outfit.

For a dramatic accent, choose gloves in eye-catching colors such as avocado, lemon yellow, bright red, purple or turquoise.

Looks

There are a myriad of glove lengths ranging from finger gloves and gloves that end at the wrist to gloves that go past the elbows to up the shoulders.

Bare shouldered fashions look incredible with gloves extended to the shoulder while sleeveless outfits pair well with short gloves or operate length gloves, which are over the elbow.

For cap sleeves, a crush glove works well in an elbow length. Elbow sleeves coupled with elbow gloves that meet the sleeve make a dramatic fashion statement.

For sleeves that fall below the elbow to the wrist, an almost elbow high or shorty glove is ideal.

Leather
If you love gloves you should always choose for leather.
Leather gloves with elegant fit will enhance your personality.

Stitched seams

Most of Ines gloves are stitched inseam, which is seamed inside out and then turned. Strong, even, not visible on the outside. This is also one of the reasons why Ines gloves are so elegant.

Our Peccary gloves are all hand sewn.

More traditional old gloves houses still use: Piquet stitching, which is: One edge of leather lapped over the other and chain stitched by a special machine with a small "post" for sewing inside the fingers. Used in sewing fine dress gloves and to sew leather palms to knitted gloves.
